Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons suffer most from the conflict

The Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Republican Commission for International Humanitarian Aid Mr. Ali Hasanov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz on July 2. Mainly Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, works done to improve the real situation and to solve the problems of our compatriots displaced from their native lands as a result of this conflict according to the signed decrees and given instructions by the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev were discussed during the meeting highlighting the well-established mutual cooperation in all fields between Azerbaijan and Israel. However, Deputy Prime Minister expressed his regret that conflict has not been solved yet as a result of the non-constructive position of Armenia; there is injustice due to the inactivity of organizations and states engaged in the resolution of the conflict, double standards approach to the problem, refugees and IDPs suffer most from all of these and mentioned that despite all these, the President of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people support the settlement of the conflict by peaceful means based on international law. In general, he expressed his concern that no progress has been achieved in the past years in the activity of OSCE Minsk Group; there is no more pressure on Armenia, and it is already more than twenty years that there is indifferent attitude to the restoration of violated rights of more than one million refugees and IDPs and noted that Israel has always been in favor of the settlement of the conflict in the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan supporting the right position of Azerbaijan in the international community and today Israel is in the same position again. In his turn, highly evaluating the rapid economic growth, works done to improve the social condition of refugees and internally displaced persons Israeli diplomat said that he witnessed all of these and expressed his gratitude for letting him to meet with the refugees settled in these areas by the accompany of deputies of the Chairman of State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs for the purpose of getting acquainted with condition and real situation created in the high-rise residential buildings built for IDPs in the dormitory No.2 of Baku Management and Technology College in Darnagul campus and in the territory of Mushvigabad settlement of Absheron district and stressed the importance of holding such meetings from time to time. Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov expressed his gratitude to the Israeli Diplomat for taking great interest to the living conditions of internally displaced persons in our country and emphasized that such meeting are really important. Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
