Appeals were addressed to the international organizations in order to release Azerbaijani civilians from hostage and to stop unlawful court proceedings against them .

As it is known, Azerbaijani civilians Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev were taken hostages in the territory of occupied Kalbajar district while visiting their native lands and the graves of their parents, Hasan Hasanov was killed. As a result of the negotiations conducted by the respective government authorities with international organizations, the dead body of Hasan Hasanov was returned with the help of International Committee of Red Cross from the opposite side. According to the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the government of Azerbaijan continues to work towards the release of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov addressed a formal request to the heads of a number of influential international organizations including President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, Vice-President of the European Commission Viviane Reding, Secretary General of the Council of Europe and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier for the purposes of strengthening the works conducted towards the return of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev who are currently illegally accused of committing various crimes and subjected to inhuman treatment, and the suspension of court proceedings set against them contrary to the international conventions . In these requests, all respective international organizations are called upon to assist in the settlement of the problem.
