Diplomatic representatives of foreign countries in Azerbaijan and the directors of international organizations have visited Jojug Marjanli

Diplomatic representatives of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan and directors of international organizations have visited liberated Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrail region. About 60 representatives closely familiarized with reconstruction works carried out in Jojug Marjanli. Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov said that the visit was organized by order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev. It was informed to diplomats that, Jojug Marjanli was the only liberated village of Jabrail region. The village was liberated during Horadiz operation led by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. However, it was not possible to return back to the village. Because the nearby territory known as Lalatapa was under the occupation and the village was set on fire from that hill by Armenian Armed Forces. Talish and Lalatapa hills were liberated during April operation of the last year. April battles were a great victory of Azerbaijani Armed Forces, honored chapter of history. After the liberation of Lalatapa, the President of Azerbaijan Republic signed a decree on restoration of the village. Initially funds were allocated for the construction of 50 houses and a school. In general, the construction of settlement consisting of 200 houses will begin in this village. After that delegation was informed about mine-clearance operation carried out by ANAMA. It was mentioned that, mine-clearance operation has already been being carryied out for 13 days. The operation is carried out in the area of 300 hectares. 71 thousand square meters of area was cleared up to now, 17 houses were inspected. Five unexploded ammunitions were found during the operation. Deputy Prime Minister stated that, restoration works have already been started in the village from today. 290 families lived in the village before the occupation. The number of families of the village reached to 400 due to natural increase and they were settled in the different regions of the Republic. 250 families have already appealed with their applications on return to the village. It was informed that, division of lands was carried out for construction, planting and pastures in the territory of the village. Based on the division, the place of construction was determined for the settlement of 400 families here. All infrastructures will be built in the village and it will be even better than before. The President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions related to these works. Kindergarten, school, medical, cultural facilities will be built here and water, gas lines will be installed certainly. Ali Hasanov stated that the IDPs were always loyal to their native lands and said: “After the April battles, 250 families appealed to our committee with the applications in connection with the return to these territories. And the President of Azerbaijan Republic immediately made arrangements on the restoration of the village. The President of Armenia sees that the restoration of liberated territories of Azerbaijan is going to be started. It is the beginning of the Great Return. Azerbaijani and Armenian people have historically lived together in neighbourhood. There was no conflict between them. Some international organizations ask questions about coexistence of Azerbaijan and Armenian people after the resolution of the conflict, and sometimes they say that certain conflicts will be arisen out among them. That’s absurdity. Armenian people are also tired of this conflict. Azerbaijani people don’t want war. These two nations will live amicably again after the Armenian armed forces leave occupied territories. No one should doubt that. The sooner Serzh Sargsyan realizes it, the more benefit he will give to his people. The President of Azerbaijan Republic thinks that the opportunities don't finish for the peaceful negotiations. We believe that, international organizations and their members should exert pressure on the Armenian government to resolve this issue”. The IDP from Jojug Marjanli Atakishi Atakishiyev thanked to the President of Azerbaijani Republic Ilham Aliyev for the restoration of his native village. Expressing his wishes about peace, stability in the world, the IDP highlighted that occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia is a crime against humanity. Then the delegation visited Ogtay Haziyev’s house. He gave further information about internal displacement life, his return to Jojug Marjanli and the agricultural activities here. The Ambassador of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan Maya Khristova shared his impressions with journalists related to the visit and said: “The visit to Jojug Marjanli was so interesting for us. When we saw the family living here, we witnessed the love of Azerbaijani people to their lands. It is a spirit of patriotism and we felt it.” The Ambassador expressed his wishes for the settlement of more people in this village soon and construction of many schools and kindergartens here. The Ambassador of Russia to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin highlighted that the visit to Jojug Marjanli village was a model step. The Diplomat mentioned that they saw the seriousness and difficulty of Garabagh conflict more closely. The Diplomat highlighted: “Our visit to Jojug Marjanli was very important. The Ambassadors of foreign countries can see the realities face-to-face. “There are two options about the conflict: reading about the conflict from the documents or hearing the said, or seeing everything yourself. When you see the people here, you think one more time that the conflict should be resolved soon”.
